Isabelle Firine
Vice President & Co-Founder
Isabelle serves as the Social Media and Correspondence Manager of For Cameron, which she co-founded with her mother in memory of her brother, Cameron, whose life was tragically cut short by fentanyl. This deeply personal mission is driven by a commitment to support families affected by addiction and to prevent others from experiencing similar loss. Through her work, Isabelle and her team are dedicated to transforming their experience into a source of hope and healing for those in need.
Kelly Davis
My name is Kelly Davis and as a prosecutor, I have seen the negative impacts of fentanyl and fentanyl overdoses far too many times. The fentanyl crisis has destroyed countless families, and killed far too many people. I love that I get to work with For Cameron and its impactful team to create change around the stigma of addiction and to enact policy goals that can hopefully work to protect the people of Connecticut.
Eric Rubenstein
The fentanyl crisis has deeply impacted my life, claiming the lives of many close friends and clients I’ve worked with as a social worker in Connecticut. I believe in meeting people where they are in their recovery journey, understanding that everyone is at a different stage. I also firmly believe that education is one of the most powerful tools we have in the fight against this crisis. As a member of For Cameron, I am committed to sharing my knowledge, resources, and personal life experiences to fight the stigma of addiction, raise awareness about addiction and overdose, and help people gain access to the treatment they need. By working with this dedicated team, I aim to turn our collective experiences into positive change and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected.
Libby Makela Johnson
Libby lost her 22-year-old daughter Maija, who struggled with opioid addiction for five years, to an accidental fentanyl overdose in 2019. In response to her loss, Libby joined the board of For Cameron, where she is actively involved in supporting families affected by addiction. She is also a career counselor for Platform to Employment-ReEntry at The WorkPlace, bringing extensive nonprofit experience from roles in grant writing, development, marketing, and case management, and has called Fair Haven, New Haven home since 2005.
John-Paul Dorais
As a member of the law enforcement community, I do not believe that enforcement alone can get us out of the opioid epidemic that is plaguing our country. That is why I joined the board of For Cameron, where we focus on raising awareness, helping families that were affected by this crisis, and fighting the stigma surrounding addiction.
Dawn Hemstock
I’ve been an advocate and educator in the field of mental health throughout my career. I’ve also witnessed the tragic effects of the fentanyl crisis in my personal life, which is why I’m on the board of For Cameron. I’m honored to be part of this passionate team that utilizes our diverse backgrounds in dedication to advocacy, education, and legislation to improve and save lives.
Scott Choquette
Scott, who lives in Hamden with his wife Kellie, has over 15 years of experience in disaster and climate risk planning in New Haven. After his son Nathan tragically died of a fentanyl overdose in 2018, Scott joined the For Cameron Board to honor Nathan's memory and advocate for better harm reduction and treatment services. He is especially dedicated to the organization's legislative action committee.
